Chain of Lakes Eggfest...
Yesterday was the Chain of Lakes Eggfest in Winter Haven, FL & it was FANTASTIC! A LOT of work but even more fun cooking, meeting old & new friends & enjoying the day...Of course it starts with getting there with a loaded car...
Next all of that was moved & set up...
And the view towards the lake from our setup...
Here was our planned menu for the items we brought to cook...
The sausage/cheese roll ready to be cut into servings...
A pan of the roasted root veggies about to go into the serving cups...
The dried fruit bread roll about to be cut for serving (unfortunately I was so busy I forgot to get pictures after cutting)...
One sword of picanha ready to go on the Egg...
And off the Egg to cut into bite size pieces for the crowd...
I totally forgot to take any pictures of the Salmon, but I think it may have been the item liked the most.
And the Coco-Not cookies on the Egg & some waiting for someone to eat...
We didn't do the Dessert Pizza but still dished out more than 500 tastings of all of the items we did prepare...the hardest part of the day was re-loading the car, then unloading when we got home.
Thanks again to BJ & Mannix Pools for putting on the 6th Annual Chain of Lakes Eggfest!
Have a GREAT day!

What an undertaking across the board. And then delivering on a very diverse menu. Tasters were certainly well rewarded. Way to make it happen.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Wow. What a great spread of good food. The sausage cheese roll looks really interesting. care to share any details?

What a great fest, Jay. It was so nice seeing you and Kathy...wish we could have spent more time together, but we were busy cooking and serving, too. We counted at least 375 portions served, and that was counted by the amount of forks we brought. Thanks for bringing us the sausage cheese roll to taste, and the picanha and, of course, those cookies, which were delish! I was so busy, I only took 4 pics!
The drum roll and the national anthem played by the high school students was an awesome start to the fest. Only fest I have been to where they have done that, not to mention the fly over with the American flag. Maybe next year it won't be so dang HOT. It was 94 degrees on my thermapen. UGG.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Morning @danhoo
Sorry for the late reply but the forum going down didn't help any...below is the recipe for the Sausage/Cheese roll...this has been a Taylor family tradition for more than 40 years (long before we got the Eggs)...enjoy!Sausage/Cheese Bread Roll
(Jay & Kathy Taylor
SSN686 & EggHatter)
Ingredients:
1 1# loaf frozen Bread Dough, thawed
1 1# Breakfast Sausage (Jimmy Dean Sage is our favorite)
8 oz. shredded Cheese (we typically use cheddar, but anything is good)
2 Eggs (raw, used as a binder for other ingredients)
Directions:
Roll dough into approx. 12" x 15" rectangle. Cook sausage. Mix cooked sausage, shredded cheese and eggs. Spread mixture on bread dough. Roll dough with mixture inside like a jelly roll and drop into a greased (Pam spray works also) bundt pan. Let rise in warm area until puffy (maybe 30 minutes).
Egg setup is indirect at about 375° dome temp. Place bundt pan on grid above platesetter and cook until top is golden brown (usually about 35 to 40 minutes). If in an oven then place on center rack at 375°. Invert bundt pan onto cutting surface and then brush butter on all sides of bread roll. Slice and enjoy.
We typically prep it the night before & keep in the refrigerator until morning…pull from fridge…then light the Egg…when Egg is up to temperature roll is warmed enough to put on the Egg.
Have a GREAT day!
