Bon Appétit, Brad, and Rodney Scott

One of my favorite cooking channels, just discovered within the last year, is Bon Appétit.  Big open kitchen, where they develop recipes for their magazine, and informal ewetubes.  Sometimes a long prep sees a cook coming in the AM, and finishing when its dark outside, otherwise empty and the janitor is waddling thru; I'd love to work there, if I ever wanted to work again (and the editing of these videos, and the personalities, are top-notch).
Often the cooks are sent TDY to different food-specific locations, and here Brad (one of the more amusing ones) visits Rodney Scott's (whole-pig BBQ), and cooks with him.  Found it very Egg-centric when Rodney burned his oak in an upper box, getting rid of the volatiles, until the coals dropped to another box below, and only those coals cooked the pig.  No white smoke!  Enjoy.

Alive! With Brad is awesome.  I really like him.  I think Brad has left Bon Appetit though.

I have watched this one it’s good. If I had to bet Scott’s profile is super clean and lightly smoked.

There was a large bit of personnel drama with the BA kitchen a few years back and a bunch of folks left (I really missed Claire!).

I recall that rather tumultuous time.  I think it revolved around racism and the editor (Adam) also resigned.  Claire wasn't accused of anything, but she decided not to renew her contract with BA.

What primarily caused Claire to leave (if memory serves) was the pay inequity among some of the test kitchen staff and she (among others) left in solidarity. That and the one honcho that wore blackface at some parry or something caused additional drama. I believe Brad also temporarily left for a while in solidarity but came back until he left  to focus on his own YouTube channel late last year.

In any case I wish them all well - some of those YouTube channels can earn some serious $$$.
