Pochetta in a mini Max

I just picked up my used Mini Max (see my other thread; will post some pics once home later in the week).
First cook on it tonight at my moms was a couple of baked potatos and a strip steak.
I’m thinking of doing a small porchetta (first one ever) on it tomm. I have a heat deflector plate for it. Thoughts? It it too close to fire to pull off?
Thanks in advance.

You'll be good. I've done a bone in turkey breast in my MINI with no issues.

Be mindful of the fat renderings as it cooks. Definitely an air-gapped drip pan for the cook.Great eats await.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
