Used Mini Max

I have the chance to buy a used mini max in excellent condition for $290. Thoughts on the price? For those that have them, do you like them? Thinking of adding to the Large arsenal. Thank you.

Yeah go for it. Especially if it comes with accessories. Don’t have one but have used them before.
  • Yes, it comes with a rib rack and heating plate.

check the measurement, top of fire ring to felt line.  original minimax was 0.75" and current is 1.5". Current fire ring also has a wide diameter.  EGG modified the fire ring, new fire ring is about $35. Can help you date the Max.

I paid $300 for my MM.  I use it more than my large, but I cook for 1 most of the time.  It is a nice little grill, comes up to temp fast, and is very versatile.

I would think for $290, if you find out you don't use it, you will get your money out of it.

Does this help? Looks like a 2018 model.

I have a large and a MM and love the MM.  I use it for 75% of my cooks.  Salmon, burgers, chicken legs and thighs, brats, chops, steaks, etc.  Just me and the wife now, so it allows me to cook a meal and have leftovers.

I would definitely take the plunge.

  • Great purchase. I have the same set up as mentioned above - Large & MiniMax. MM is my workhorse and I sometimes kick myself in the a$$ for not purchasing it sooner (I’ve only had it for a couple years). In fact I’ll use the MM tonight for some burgers and a couple hotdogs.
At that price, if you don’t like it, you shouldn’t have any issues getting your money back reselling it. But I suspect that you won’t be selling it. Enjoy!

I think it was around 2015 when EGG made the upgrade but best to measure to make sure.
