Thermometer

Looking for a new thermometer, one that I can track protein temp and pit temp. I was leaning towards the meater but using it as just a pit temperature tracker is a little more difficult. I would also like to be able to leave the house and continue to monitor temps on my phone. Any suggestions?

Hmm the smoke and the gateway are both on sale for half the price of the Signals.

- The Signals is a good choice.
- I would also look at a Tappecue Touch. Only bring this up due to the multiple different types of probes it is able to use:
Standard wire probes. Measuring one temp either pit or meat
Dual probe which is a single probe that measures both pit and meat.
Wireless probes. Tappecue has both the AirProbe 2 and AirProbe 3 which which is like the Meater+ and synchs up and runs through the Tappecue Touch. Either AirProbe measures both pit and meat temperature.
- Additionally if you would desire to you could make the Tappecue Touch a full PID controller by adding the cruise control option.
- Watch the Thermoworks site for discounts. If you look at the Tappecue site sign up for newsletter and you get 15% off first purchase.
- Now the Paul Harvey. I have used the Tappecue as only a Thermometer. It is great. I have all 3 different types of probes and have had zero issues. The AirProbe 3 run time of 48hrs is nice.
- My BIL bought me the Signals for Christmas and Lord knows I did not need another controller. I have used it once. Works fine though not a fan of the Billows fan.
- If you do not require your Thermometer to be WIFI capable look at the Thermoworks Smoke X2 or Smoke X4. Only difference is number of probes. Additionally you could add the Billows and be in the non WIFI pid game. The “Smoke Gateway” DOES NOT work with the Smoke X series.
- I believe the Smoke X series is discounted today. Just checked 25% off today.

Wifi is a must, otherwise I would continue using my cheap blue tooth unit. Thanks for the recommendations.
