Temp probe

I had to replace my Smoke probe (25.00) I think it was because I run it under my egg lid. Anyone try removing stock thermometer and using the hole to run the probes?

It's not going to fit through dome temp gauge hole.  You can run it through the chimney, but between the felt works fine.  It shouldn't damage the wire so long as you're not slamming the lid, and have some sort of gasket.

These probes are designed to withstand being under a lid or door.  Make sure the probe is protected from direct heat. I run the probe wires along the path of the Conveggtor legs.  I have some ThermoWorks probe wires that more than 5 years old and are still going strong.
