First Tomahawk Cook

I never bought a tomahawk before because I thought paying for the bone was a waste. While at the grocery store on Saturday I looked in the butcher case and the tomahawk called to me. I knew when I saw it that I had to have it. I told the butcher to wrap it up without knowing the price. I was cringing inside while I asked how much it was. He seemed surprised when he told me it was on sale for $12.99/lb. Fortune favors the foolish and brave.
I seasoned it was kosher salt about 2hrs before the cook and applied Cattleman smoky chipotle coffee steak seasoning about 15 min before it went down on the egg at 250 indirect. I pulled it at 130 internal and let it rest til the egg came up to about 600 for three sear.
It was so tender and flavorful that it was devoured, all 3.4lbs, immediately. I will do another again soon. Thanks for reading.
