Sad day. What a great guy, great coach. He was a college football treasure.

Loved Mike Leach! Tragic. I read his autobiography, “Swing Your Sword” many years ago. It was just as entertaining as listening to his interviews.XL BGE, Large BGE, Small BGE, Weber Summit NGMemphis

I watched about an hour's worth of his commentary today. What a legend. Got his start in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. At Iowa Wesleyan college.
I love when he debates who would win a PAC-12 conference title and he talks about the mascots.
"What mystical powers does a Sun-devil have?"
"The Coug (He was coach of the Cougars at that time) will have to lie in wait and choose the right opportunity, but my money is on the Cougar"
"It will be interesting to see how long the Beaver can hold his breath."
"The Ducks will just loose interest and fly out of there."
"The Buffalo will be tough to beat, they are a beast!"
His mind was always working a million miles an hour.
He chose his captains on their ability to call Heads and Tails correctly. (Picked one guy because he almost won on The Price is Right)
He picked his place kicker because the kid won a chance to kick a field goal at halftime and made it.
Just an absolute legend! He will be missed. If you haven't watched some of his interviews, do yourself a favor. Never took himself too seriously. Loved the kids he coached and believed he was preparing his players to be better men.Clinton, Iowa -
RIP. Gone too soon. Such great guy on and off the field. His interviews were always worth a listen. He will be missed by many.Snellville, GA

This has been framed and in my garage for over a decade. The guy was one of a kind (in a good way). Sorry for the slanted pic

Yes it’s too early. He even had a bowl game lined up and his team three quarters trained.
