When using Joe tissorie or bge Rotisserie, do you leave the lid open during the cook?

I made a split divider and close the lid. But today I watched a guy do a leg of lamb lid open. Came out great. Just was curiousColumbus, Ohio

Leaving it open will get the color you want on the outside while minimally cooking the interior. For a leg of lamb or large bird, I'd leave it open until you like the color, then close it to finish it off.
