There are still suites available for the FL Minifest Nov. 3rd, 4th, and 5th being held at the Tuckaway Shores Oceanfront Suites in Melbourne, FL. They're holding our block at least until Sept., so reservations need to be made soon. YOU’LL NEED TO CALL THE RESORT (1-800-820-1441) DIRECTLY because all the suites are blocked for us and you won’t be able to reserve online.
For those of you who have not attended this event in the past, you will find this to be, probably, the most enjoyable egg-related gathering you’ve ever attended. Most of us bring our own egg, usually one of the smaller sizes such as the Minimax or Small, but, there is an Extra Large Egg with a plate setter available to anyone who wants to use it. You will not be cooking for hundreds of tasters like your typical eggfest, but instead, you will be cooking what you want, when you want, for other cooks. This is what makes this event so unique. You can make time to go shopping, fishing, surfing, swimming in the pool, walking on the beach, or just plain relaxing. There is plenty of schmoozing with other egghead cooks as well. Personally, this is my favorite egg event and it’s a must-do every year for us. There’re also some amazing speciality food markets as well as fresh seafood markets nearby.
Here’s a great write-up by Chris Grove that gives a detailed account of what the Minifest is like: https://www.nibblemethis.com/2021/02/event-preview-mini-fest-at-tuckaway.html?m=1&fbclid=IwAR0wJ667oMhIo52pZnAXUxa3bupW0hhAf3fPOs4bben18HK488W5CmprvwI
