Smokeware Side Shelves?

has anyone installed the Smokeware side shelves? They look like a nice upgrade from the Big Green Egg plastic ones.

Any experience with keeping them clean, maintenance, fit and finish would be appreciated.

My Big Green Egg plastics are impossible to keep clean and one has a crack already.

TIA

I don’t own a set but have seen them. The Mahogany wood is beautiful and seems very durable as long as you treat the wood once or twice a year with cutting board oil or paste. They install similar to the factory table. On the plus side, IF you every have any issues or questions the Smokeware people are very nice.

  • Nothing to add to the topic at hand, but I am just chiming in to say I like your après ski handle. I expect either you are a skier, or you enjoy libations; possibly both.  :)

we had their shelves in the store for a short period of time. Nice looking, only thing I did not like is the screws drilled into the brackets from the topside of the shelves.

EGG's Acacia shelves are really nice. If you go Acacia, just make sure you get the larger set, more room and same money as the smaller size set.

Following up on this, the shelves arrived yesterday and them along with a new matching handle went on today. Top quality and very attractive.

I agree about the screws, would have been nicer if they were driven from below instead of counter sunk bolts with screw heads from above. I assume the holes will eventually get filled in with a mixture of grease, wax and mineral oil.

Smokerware were great to deal with, looking forward to using the cap I also picked up for my JoeJr. That should fix the only complaint I had about it. The original cap's daisy wheel would never stay put when opening the lid.
