Storage Cabinet ideas

We moved in September to a new to us home. I had a custom outdoor kitchen at the last house that housed the two eggs...a L and a MM. The eggs made the move with us. I had constant maintenance issues with the outdoor kitchen; leaky faucets, bugs, wasps nests, even some rotten wood due to water infiltration. The theme for the new house all around is KISS, keep it simple stupid. So no outdoor kitchen.  Just the large in a nest. The MM in a yet to be purchased nest. So curious of any good ideas for a simple storage cabinet to sit in between them? Ideally with a spot to set a pan or two on top. The wife won't be happy with a plastic cabinet or Rubbermaid bin. I'd love a stainless cabinet of some kind. I've even considered a tool cabinet but worry about it sitting outside all the time. Even tho I am a certified redneck I don't want it to look trashy. See what I got going so far. Open to suggestions. Thanks yall.

I had a nest for my LBGE and then ended up getting a table after I purchased my MM. MM stores nicely underneath when not in use and I use a cover to protect them all.

@Mickey has a tool box of sort or did he shared here a while back with his eggs in nests.  I feel like it was similar to the one posted above.

I would suggest turning the table (and kamados) 180 degrees.
I would think the bge is the hotter cooking vessel and better off a few feet away from the siding.

As @U_tarded mentioned above, @Mickey did have (still has?) a workbench similar to this one, under a covered porch area. IIRC, he bought it at Sam's, but Costco has similar workbenches (search Costco.com for "TRINITY workbench").

Not sure how well the wood top will hold up in an uncovered spot. If you're up to it, sanding down the wood top, and then a few coats of spar urethane should hold up pretty well. I'm a fan of having the eggs in nests, and investing in some kind of durable table type thing.

The ones at Costco come in a few different configurations. Lots of space for accessories, charcoal, etc. At least 1/2, if not 1/3rd the cost of a Challenger rig.

Do check out what @Tspud1 has to offer... he builds some great stuff.

Sam’s had this and works well. Bought in 2017. Sorry about the sideways pic.

I’m In a pretty high wind area and don’t ever go above 300 degrees. I’ve cooked on the egg many times and felt the siding and it was only as warm as it was outside. I was nervous about it in the beginning so I kept and eye on it.

Is it an option to rotate the table so that both kamados are away from the soffit?  The table would be parallel to the side of the house that’s is in the pic.  If you have standing room between the house and the table that might be the best option. Gives you a nook and can lean on the rail.  I hear you on the wind but would still be concerned with smoke going into the attic air and also there appears to be a bath fan exiting there.

What size are you looking for? Our tables can be converted into storage with no egg. Have 18", 24", 30" and 48" sections. Stainless cost has gone crazy so
you might look into some of those resin material storage

im actually more concerned with the egg sitting on feet on the wooden shelf, ive burnt a hole straight thru a 2 inch table sitting that way doing a low and slow. you can see here where the three feet were

I could move it to the other side and have it on the other side of the deck. I actually never thought about the smoke going into the attic, I should probably close the vents that go into the attic around there if I keep it where it is

Ya I’ve seen this picture before, I keep an eye on it when I cook. That’s one thing that primo does much better than big green egg, the bottom of the primo has a ceramic plate keeping the bottom cool the egg really should incorporate a bottom ceramic plate.

Thanks so much yall. I Iike the Costco/Sam's workbench idea. I have really enjoyed having them in nests rather than fixed in my previous kitchen or in a big table. I can move them, blow the leaves from behind, pressure was behind them etc.

@Tspud1 do you have a website? Love those tables. May be out of my (the wifes) comfort zone price but I'd enjoying looking at options.

Dont go by the pricing there if you are planning a non egg storage
cabinet. You can get a Egghead discount with me.
