Mititei

I visited my brother over the weekend and we like to stop by a local Romanian charcuterie store on our way there.

I was chatting with one of the regulars while waiting in line and he recommended that I try the mititei (aka mici).  It is a « secret » item that the store is not advertising and that only the regulars know about.  It is basically a very garlicky/salty skinless sausage.  Very tasty/juicy and it reminds me of donair meat.  The one they make is a traditional mix of beef, pork, and lamb.

You my friend, are brave indeed, showing pictures of a skinless sausage that you no doubt, had to whisper to the proprietor about, before his secret skinless sausage, met your hand. So brave of you too, to show us a picture of it, nestled next to your one big rice ball. Is it just the one then? I have to ask though, what is that white stuff .. near the end of your secret sausage? Also, the cucumber seems out of place. Why even have a cucumber if your secret sausage is not so secret anymore?

Love the white plate too,  and that in your world, you use bread to put your fork on. Napkins are for people that don't know how bread can get the white stuff, from near the end of your secret sausage, off of your face.

Just don't move it closer to the end of your cucumber and we're good. I have to get my sorry A$$ into the shower and I can't be watching the end of your cucumber, to see if it's been sauced or not, before doing that, seems like that could change how the shower goes and I have a routine already.

Oh and BTW, sweet looking meal, did I mention that already?
  • Looks good. Is the charcuterie local? If so, where? And just how does one enable to illicit deal?

Those sausages look lonely on the LBGE. Gotta press that MiniMax into service!

It is in Laval right by the Cosmodome:

You just ask for « mici », they will stare at you for a couple of seconds trying to process how the hell you know about that and then they will disappear and come back with a pack.  If you are into sour pickles they make dirt cheap homemade ones.  They make 90% of the products they sell.  They also have a pantry section with European products (including random stuff like genuine persil laundry cleaner and Haribo gummy bears).
