I've watched a few of this guy's videos, and get good ideas for projects and techniques. Here he makes a table for his XL and Minimax. I'm quite jealous of his shop.

I think I would've cut an inside rabbet into the side aprons to hold the cross 2x4 slats, for two reasons:
a) that glue-up of the base looked hairy as hell, especially since he was working alone. But more importantly
b) once his XL was in place (clever how he placed it himself) it looked like the entire weight of it was only resting on two of the 2x4s, and they were only held up with 4 dominoes each. Yikes!
Glad he made a custom Egg handle to match the table; that really set it off. I had designed my own table for my Small, even purchased the wood for it, but never built it because two years ago I saw the BlueStar thread and ended up getting one, no need to wok on the Egg anymore. Moving the mise en place out to the back porch every meal, plus thinking how hot my west-facing porch gets, plus just plain running out of room, I'll be keeping my Eggs in their rollaround nests.
