I know a charcoal basket is not necessary but has anyone used one and what are your thoughts?

One of my favorite purchase for the Egg. Makes cleaning out the Egg very quick.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Not only does it make cleaning out the egg easier but it separates the charcoal from the ceramic fire bowl, which makes it a lot harder to crack.

I just purchased one for my XL BGE and small Kamado Joe Jr. I’ve had more issues with KJjr. Going to smoke 2 pork bits and 1 Corned beef brisket this weekend. 1st time trying to make pastrami. The butts are thawed and the brisket is soaking. Will let you know if I notice a difference in the Xl,
