Squid steaks w/tomato salsa

Last night did some squid steaks with tomato salsa. Never had them before or had even heard but the wife found them and found the recipe.  Turned out really good and something we'll do again.

    That’s the calamari I knew as a kid, long before ever seeing the smaller rings and tentacles you get with fried calamari.  Really nice with a light breading and sautéed with lemon, etc.  It gets really tough if you overcook.  Nice looking plate.

    I think store called them squid steaks. Recipe called them calamari steaks.  Had a lemons/parsley/garlic seasoning and a quick hot sear. Recipe said they got tough if over cooked so I didn't want that.  $4.99/lb in MN so good price and will do again.  Very little "fishy" flavor so would be good for people that aren't big seafood fans.
