The push vs pull information discussion-thoughts? Started here by Formula 1-

I was talking with my 34 yo son last week and he was all over the Netflix series on Formula One.  I then mentioned Watkins Glen and the US Grand Prix being held there for 20 years, 1961-1980.  He reasonably had no clue which brings me to this:
I lived well outside any media influence of Watkins Glens, NY in that time frame but learned of the event thru reading about successes of US F-! drivers (Phil Hill for the win). I then started looking into this whole new racing circuit.  I read articles  and eventually ended up at the course and having a great time for three F-1 race years.
Today I am of the opinion that any news/info is pushed to the receptor and filtered as well.  I wonder about the level of curiosity to seek out new adventures/opportunities or experiences when not pushed.
Thoughts or an old salt rambling on a Saturday?

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
