remote temp. probe

Having had bad luck with wire wound temp gauges, I prefer the digital remote type. Do those of you that use remote probes just place the wire between the lid and base? Just wondering if all that weight would ruin the probe but can't think of any other way of getting it inside except maybe down through the chimney.

- I run the wire between the dome and base and knock on wood I have yet to have a cable mort itself.

No problem with the probe wires. To protect the probe wire it is a best practice to run the probe along the path of the plate setter “leg” to protect the probe wire from direct heat.XL BGE, Large BGE, Small BGE, Weber Summit NGMemphis
