Keep these XL dome’s and base

I bought two brand new complete XLs for $200, knowing they were cracked. One base and all the internals, nests, and hardware are perfect. I paired a spare dome and have a newish XL egg I am going to sell. For a minute I considered fixing these broken parts. I feel I would need to cut the broken areas out, somehow install support, and then reform the cut areas with refractory cement (or other). Or plan b is just toss them. Thoughts?

I'd go B or keep the base for a planter and pitch the domes.

Planters

Good suggestions, thanks @WeberWho and @Ozzie_Isaac. My wife says no to the planters. The response cited that there were enough green monsters on the patio, she doesn't need any in a garden. Shes right I think. So for me its either fix, or have fun smashing them. I'm still ahead, I have more spares (nest, internals, and hardware) for the next fraken XL I build.

REALLY curious…based on that first picture then those bases had never even been used, but how did you living in UT happen to buy those 3 new albeit damaged eggs for a mere $200? Even one having the internal valuable guts were worth more than the retail price of the $200 you paid!
Know somebody? OR are you a BGE dealer? …….da, me thinks I just answered my own question!,

Hey @RRP . There are several businesses that buy goods at a discount from auctions. I found an XL for $300 from one of them. I drove from Salt Lake City where I live to Provo (about an hour, traffic is always bad) to pick it up. There were two brand new XL's never opened, $300 each. I said ok I will take one, lets open it up and check for damage. The first one had a damaged dome, and a damaged base. I said ok, lets open the second one. It had only a damaged dome. After some negotiation (and the realization by the owners that they had broken eggs, they were sad), I drove off in my nissan pathfinder with two XLs including nests for $200. They just wanted them gone. It was a seriously tight fit. I made an XL from a spare dome I got for free from another local online ad, and I have spare parts for a future XL if I come across a dome or base in the future. I have a hobby of collecting eggs for cheap, cleaning them (clean burn and external wax), adding a gasket, and selling them. I can afford to buy the eggs I want, but its fun buying and flipping them for profit. I have two larges in nests I bought during the slow winter season for 350 each, and I will list them in May for $700 or so. The process paid for my 2XL. Here is the XL I made, it is going to my moms. There was a large at my moms in a table, we just gave it to a family friend to make room for the XL (paid 150 for the large/table combo a few years ago). I am an egg used car salesman, so yes, I am kind of a dealer.

Is that a normal place for cracks? Those might still be usable. Post on FB for $50 each maybe.

It might be hard to see, but those chunks are being held on by the gaskets. I think a forklift stabbed the boxes.

Any handles you would be interested in selling? I am looking for new handles for my eggs right now.

Sorry I bought it for all the hardware and bits that were good. I make franken eggs from parts I find.
