Prime tri-tip

Got a prime tri-tip from Costco. Smoked at 225F with pecan until rare doneness about 125F in the middle, then seared at 750F 60-90 seconds per side. Finished medium rare in the end. Really fantastic stuff!

Looks perf. Tri Tip is my fave cut outside of brisket. Great flavor and the least amount of gristle and such to remove.
Then for leftovers: TriTip spinach salad! (+ figs + blue cheese)
