Meater Temp Devices

I have the mid level meater with "extended" bluetooth range. It works pretty well and I like it, but I'm starting to think I should have bought the wifi version instead. I get disconnected when I have my phone with me if I get too far away from the grill in the house. Does anyone have the wifi version? Is it worth the upgrade? Also, can I view my cook away from home? I see the site talking about the meater cloud feature, but i'm not sure I understand it right. If I have to run out for a bit, can I see my cook on my phone or do I have to be connected to my home wifi? Thanks for any help.

If you have two iThings, here's what I do.
When I get the Meater (I have the old original) going, I use the app on my iPad and place that within range. Then I open the app in my iPhone and use that. Since the pad is in constant contact with the phone over my home wifi, that keeps them both in sync.

I do the same, but use a cheap android tablet plugged in to a charger so the display can stay on.

Wish I would have seen this a few days ago...well, maybe, can't say for sure yet. Meater Plus arrived on my doorstep this morning. Oh well, I'm excited to try it, and excited to not have do deal with probe wires.

Make sure to charge the Meater for at least 4 hours.

Also, after a cook, scrub the square end really well so it makes a good contact to recharge.
