Bridge City Toolworks

This was a place in Oregon that made very nice, brass/steel/rosewood woodworking tools, of which I own about ten or so. They went out of business decades ago, but searching the intranetz I learned that it was sold in 2018 to a chinese company, and the owner/designer went into retirement (Ekonomaki).

Well, this showed up on my farcebook:
https://www.gestuare.com/products/%F0%9F%94%A5hp-12-dual-angle-benchplane-by-bridge-city-toolworks?st&utm_source=23850194092590195&utm_medium=Handmade&utm_campaign=Facebook_Desktop_Feed&utm_content=02&fbclid=IwAR2GomjwnClTmP_2BGbJTv6jNyxx2_DanWU0dOn8ZaxQA802lI_IcZU6LQk

Looks like a Bridge City design, but not the price:  $79.99??  I've paid that much for a damn scratch awl.  Thats what prompted my search.  The "Gestuare" company answered a few posts on facebook, and keep insisting the tools are made in the US, so I'm thinking its some kind of fly-by-night operation, so I'll bypass this one, because I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools I-don't-need-any-more-tools!  (nice-looking piece, though)

Okay, I went to Lee Valley's website, they carried BC, and it looks like they are still in business.  Some of the tools were a bit more reasonably-priced, but the above plane was listed for $1,160, not $79 (and only available in Canada), so the above site is bogus.
I did see a BC "chopstick-making jig" for $280, and I vaguely remember seeing that before, so my memory's going.   :|

Bob, I'm not even sure anymore.  The logo's the same, and it looked like John Economaki is still running it, so I'm not sure what's going on.

    DAMN YOU, @Botch !!!

I went through their catalog, and now I'm coveting things I didn't know existed previously.  And it reminded me of some things that I need enough I ordered them from Amazon.

:D   Hey, you've got all those new cabinets to fill up...

I glanced thru it again and saw that Jointmaker Pro, still couldn't figure out how it worked.  Found this on EweTube, very bizarre tool:

Like the guy in the video, I like working with hand tools and this isn't in my immediate future, but it's quite a unique design.
I also gained a new life term:  "Gizmocity"

EDIT II:  This video is much shorter and shows a lot more of what it can do (lots of other BC tool pr0n in it, also):

For dovetails, I just clamp a piece of wood down on my Shaper Origin Workstation and follow the dotted line on the router screen.... ;)
