Company Question

I am having some dealings with a US based company. When I look up their address, it's actually the address of a 'US Bank' branch in a small city in flyover country. It is normal for US businesses to have their registered address at a bank? Here companies may use an accountant or solicitor, but not a bank.

    I've never heard of that, but then again I've never been soliciting a relationship with a US company from outside the US.  Research and mitigate risk.  If there's anything I can do to help from inside the country short of driving to the location and knocking on their door, let me know.

    after 5 months with a refinance on the camp with the mortgage requested.....
    DENIED:  WE DO NOT OFFER THE PRODUCT OR PROGRAM REQUESTED. they wasted my time big time. tried to get a real answer, questioned if they were waiting for rates to rise, answer was umm, i dont know, im not privy, not my department.........refinance amount was 24 percent of appraisal. started a new refinance with a different place two weeks ago, new tactics this time, things look alot simpler this time

    I'm in the heart of flyover country (Nebraska) and we like doing road trips.  Reach out if we can help in any way.

    @Eoin - I'll see @dbCooper's offer and raise it one.  =)
    On a more serious note, if I can offer any assistance let me know.  However, due diligence thru open records etc should yield lots of information. I also have not heard or seen that sort of address/location fencing.

    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

    I would say it's certainly not normal.  Is the address a multi tenant complex and it's lacking a suite number?   I don't mind helping if needed.  Anything to distract me from my actual job.....

    I have some friends who are lawyers in several disciplines and they have some resources that aren't publicly available like LexisNexis.  I could ask them to check out any company there.  One is a trademark lawyer and he specializes in corporate research.

    Next door in Wyoming. Done some research and it certainly seems like there are a lot of tax and privacy advantages to having a holding company there.

    Seems like Wyoming has no company filing obligations.

    Done a streetview and it's a single building with only US Bank signs.

    Just doing background. I wondered why an international business would have an HQ in Wyoming, but then I saw the corporate laws and tax situation.

    They seem to positively encourage it.
