Warranty Question

Hello,
it is my understanding that the BGE is under warranty for life to the original owner. I bought my BGE from a friend. The fire box and ring are both cracked. Is there a way for me to get these replaced under warranty?  Thanks for any help.

Cracks are OK. There is no honest way to do it but your buddy could file a claim I suppose.

  • The only way you can get warrantied parts is if your buddy (original owner) files the claim, and the gives you the parts after BGE sends them to him.  Otherwise you don’t qualify for warranty since you bought it used.

buy a case of beer for your friend to help extend the warranty, but what others said is true.

I cooked on a fire ring in two pieces for 5 years and finally warrantied it this summer when it was about to become 3 pieces and i had another item needing replacement.  IMO as long as the fire bowl and fire ring hold a grate in a sturdy fashion its fine.

Better hope your buddy has the receipt too. The warranty is no good without original proof of purchase.
