I bought the evaporust to restore some hand tools that were left out for a year or so. I thought I'd try it on my rusty daisy wheel. I didn't take a before pic, but here is a recent photo.

I soaked it for about 36 hours and brushed it a couple of times with a toothbrush.

I thought I took a Pic before I seasoned it, but...

Here's a Pic after I seasoned it over a gas burner on the stove.

Pretty cool. Seems like it can be used to get the rust off CI stuff, too. And, not nearly as caustic as lye.

Thanks. I haven't tried it on grates. That might be worth a try.

Evaporust was fantastic on stainless hardware that was rusty from the metal it was bolted through.

I used it on the hardware for my nest and it came out looking brand new

Yeah, lets leave the lye for Lutefisk.

Couple years ago 4 of us neighbors were having REALLY bad issues with moles. We all tried this and that…and yet another neighbor had great success or so it seemed using lye in the mole tunnels. I STUPIDLY purchased some food grade lye off Amazon. After some weird looks I researched lye and discovered that besides lutefisk then lye is a common ingredient in pretzels! Not sure my dead moles knew the difference that they died from food grade lye or not!

I love jumping to Googlez Imagez with odd phrases, like "mole eating pretzel", and almost always get a funny graphic or photo.
    Not this time.   :|

(I grew up around lutefisk.  It is Evil)
