BGE vertical turkey stand in a large egg
Powak
Posts: 1,412
I’ve got a couple porcelain BGE vertical turkey stands. One small and one big. Never figured out how to use these on my large egg. Turkey gets pressed right into the top of the dome. Are you supposed to pull the grate and place them down on the plate setter or a small grate on the plate setter? Or no plate setter and just roast direct at at fire ring height?

@RRP nailed it. I have gone that route (indirect) many times with large turkeys. The fire box will hold enough lump to get you thru the cook running around 350*F (if you have dense lump).Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.
