Birthday Celebration To Remember

Saturday I celebrated a milestone birthday with 45 friends.  I prepared the proteins and everyone brought a covered dish side or appetizer.  Man what a spread, prime rib, peach glazed pulled pork, Turkey and sausages.  I did manage to get a couple of pictures but the guests blocked the view when I tried to get some money shots.  Prime rib was butter, Turkey was super moist and the pulled pork was perfect as usual.

@Money_Hillbilly I knew it was gonna be epic when I saw the title.  You did not miss that mark.  Congratulations on the milestone lap of the sun completion.  That spread looks great!
Tell me more about the bacon on the turkey, please.

Happy belated birthday. It looks and sounds like everyone had a wonderful time!

  • @lousubcap I inject the Turkey with butter, then make a wet rub combining the following:  salt, fresh cracked pepper, dry mustard, wine vinegar, worchestershire sauce and olive oil.  Place bacon over Turkey then an olive soaked dish towel over the whole bird.  Bake indirect with air gapped drip pan at 325.  When Brest reaches 135 remove towel and bacon, raise the temp to 375-400 and continue to bake until breast is 157 or so.  Comes out perfect every time. I have cooked turkeys this way for 40 years. I moved from the oven to the egg about 15 years ago.
