My egg had an egg...

Finally pulled the trigger and added a mini max. Man why didn’t I do this sooner? It compliments my large nicely and is a blast to cook on. Fits in the bottom of my table perfectly when not in use. Pull it out and put on the top when cooking. With tailgating and a few beach trips a year this little guy will get some extra use too. No regrets with this purchase. Now working on my Christmas list to send to @tvj at CGS...

  • Congrats. Very cool. Like a lot of us, I also rock the Large and MM and love the combo. I take my MM under a front covered porch when it’s raining or snowing.

Picked up a Mini Max for the mountains a year or so ago because, I could put it in the barn or laundry room when I leave. There are only two of us so large cooks don't happen. It's perfect for what I needed.
Back on the coast with the medium, it takes a while to get used to how much charcoal it takes and of course how to set up temps. Yes, for the two or three times a year I cook an 8 pound butt to carry to children's house, the medium is needed, but I could cook 99% of what I do on the MM.

Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Congrats on the purchase. I was really excited for one of these when they rolled out. I still want one to compliment my Large. But I was really disappointed in the high price tag and still haven’t got one.

This is how I ended up with my Joe Jr. $300 delivered with KJ's version of a Woo, deflector & kick ash basket.

    Love it for small cooks

OP, besides traveling with it, what kind of cooks do have planned for the mini.
  • Those little ones are adorable.

Mainly hot & fast cooks right now. Family of 4 with 2 young-ins so we’re only cooking a couple steaks, couple chops or 4 burgers at a time. I’m sure as time goes on and when I got my CGS wishlist, will do some low & slow cooks.

About 2 weeks after I purchased my MM Walmart did their “pre Black Friday sale” and I saw the Joe Jr for around that I believe. I was a little bummed however I had already cooked on mine and I have a matching set so got over it quickly. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sting just a little tho... Thats a great deal.
  • Perfect timing! I (along with many of you on here) received a CGS annual Christmas sale email this morning... time to outfit the new minimax
