I've had 4 KAB's in three different eggs.  They hold up well (the SS ones anyway) and work great.  I burned up the regular carbon one after several years.

Because I have had such good luck with SS KAB, I have no experience with the Egg firebowl.

KAB all the way.  After years of saying they crack fireboxes, suddenly BGE comes out with their own that's more expensive and made in China.  I'll stick with the original, just like the grate raking system from CGS

My preference is the KAB.

I have both.  KAB warped on me.  Use a BGE one now (for couple of years).  I like the BGE.  To each his own……

I have the KAB in my large.  I wish I had one in the medium.  I can't speak to the BGE product so I can't comment... but I just did comment....
