So I took a plunge and bought the onlyfire pizza and rotisserie accessory for the egg. At first look its seems decent, $180 Canadian, the Joe stuff up here would be 2 accessories and cost about $600...

Can't wait to hear your opinion on the rotisserie. I have coveted a joe-tisserie for a year or more.Clinton, Iowa

Looks good.
Darn they stole my idea...few years ago I almost pulled the trigger on a Pizza Porta, with the intention of modding it to work as rotisserie as well.canuckland -
Made pizzas yesterday. Worked well. Bit of an air gap at front, thinking some gasket tape on the unit all around to make a perfect seal. I have the new lid lifter.
Really like popping the door open and checking and spinning during the cook.
Hoping to grab a couple chickens this week and trying the rotisserie. -
I wonder why it is only available in Canada. The US site doesn't have this unit.Clinton, Iowa

After looking at the pizza porta, I may mod this and drill some holes on the sides of the door and put some daisy wheels on it. Should be an easy enough task. Just need to find some flat daisy wheels.

Maybe some grill vents similar to this would work?Thegrim1 said:After looking at the pizza porta, I may mod this and drill some holes on the sides of the door and put some daisy wheels on it. Should be an easy enough task. Just need to find some flat daisy wheels.

Those would be perfect.

Try Amazon search with “bbq damper”. The US site has lots of options.Thegrim1 said:Those would be perfect.

Somersaults instead of barrel rolls huh?Thegrim1 said:Done.

I prefer cooking this way. Legs cook as fast as the breasts and juices don't sit in the cavity.

Finally did this myself.Photo Egg said:

I never saw this accessory before. Just put one in my Amazon cart!(forum always costs me $$$). I also put in two rotating baskets. One round to tumble items. One flat to not tumble.
Why is it necessary to add more dampers? The top daisy wheel or equivalent can't do the job?

My guess is you close the top vent to prevent heat escaping straight up… vents near the front direct the heat over the pie before exiting.CtTOPGUN said:I never saw this accessory before. Yep, got it up to 500 then closed top vent and opened new vents. Heat came out of new vents, made top of pizza perfect. Used to have bottom cook before top, with or without the accessory. Makes this a pizza porta on the cheap.
I used these (I'm in Canada)
