Killer match in Women's Beach Volleyball between the yanks and the canucks right now, mid 20's before the set is won. They're getting a shade/water break every few serves, global warming will definitely be shifting the Oly venues in the immediate future.
And one, possibly sexist, remark:  ain't no way any canuck lady could survive a Canadian Winter, that skinny.
Or, maybe with global warming, they can...   :|

Maybe this has been going on for awhile, but I just noticed it; if an event is at a critical point, but the Advertisers' time comes up, NBC is going to split-screen, with a small window showing the event and a larger screen showing the Toyota commercial.

@Botch, my understanding is that the split screen was created in an effort to keep the people who record the broadcasts from skipping through the commercials.

Officially they were to be  held last summer in 2020. Despite the delay they decided to stick with the official nomenclature.

Wouldn't want to have to throw away all that pre made merch and forge new medals now would ya? :)

I thought it was because there were 1999 olympics before this one, just like there were 18 different covids before covid 19 :o

They also did not want to destroy warehouses full of merchandise and medals that would worthless if they changed the Olympics to 2021. A good decision, I think.
