Here's a rather comprehensive chart of various peppers and their corresponding Scoville Heat Units that I came across and thought some might find interesting/useful.

This link is to the high res file (shrunken pix above was just to give you an idea what the chart is):

    Tan Que!
I grew up in a German/Norwegian household, and cried crocodile tears after my first paper plate of nachos with pickled jalapenos in the Atlanta airport.
After being transferred to KAFB, I learned from the Locals that the local summer weather made a MUCH bigger difference to a pepper's heat, than the particular variety (it had been a Hot summer and even the locals were tearing up).
I'm to the point of eating two habaneros in a cheekun dish, but not munching them like jalapenos.  No desire to eat ghost peppers or other such poisons, at this point.  But, still fun to read ratings and "opinions".   :)

i like the mystery of the pepper garden, have some jalapenos growing that are clearly not jalapenos. i dont always trust the charts, things i put scotch bonnets on seem milder than if i used a jalapeno
