Building New Deck

Building new deck out of Trex Transend and am concerned about the weight of BGE (180lbs) if the cart happens to land between joists.  I did put in 2x12” joists on 12” centers, but is there something else I should do to eliminate the a possibility of sagging once the summer heat hits.  Trex is strong but much easier to do something now vs after deck if finished.  Anybody have any issues with Trex and weight of BGE?  Thanks for your help.

The trex shouldn’t deflect with a span of 12” and 45# point load

You aren’t worried about it deflecting under each foot as you walk over to the grill, right?

    that’s a much higher load.

You are good.  We used a timber tech composite with 2x12's a foot on center and have a large egg in a table and haven't had any issues in a decade.  Enjoy the deck!

If Covid had locked us down much longer the problem could have me and not the BGE!  Thanks for replying.

That’s good news, thank you.  I just wasn’t sure once the sun heated the Trex up could the weight begin to bend a bit.  We are looking forward to the new deck it’s  killing me that my Egg has been in the garage for 1.5 weeks!  The good news it gave me time to completely refinish my cart.  Thanks again.
