The old table has outlived its usefulness and has be carted away - It is time to build anew - proposed table will be "L" shaped = 8 x8 feet
I have a large egg - a medium egg - and a stainless gas burner - My question is (1)
What can I incorporate to make the table - more 'cookable" -
And (2) What have you done to your table that you thank is helpful - pretty cool -

I have a cedar table and I put a slab of granite in the top that is flush with the front edge for a smooth prep area and as a built in trivet for hot dishes, I think it is a great way to use the area. Others also love stainless steel top but if the table is in the sun it can get hot. Hope that helps!

CHRISSGRIILLS - I am considering a cedar counter top - and use Sikkens stain - originally developed for cedar - I used in on my sailboat teak
SAMIAM2 - I think I will do this - square hoke and open front
