My wife has a friend who today brought us a muffuletta from Central Grocery in New Orleans. Good stuff. She packed it on ice in a cooler and it made it home to here in N. Georgia just fine.
We had one of these many years ago during our only visit to NO, and liked it and enjoyed this one today.

It was a nice surprise.
I think when we visited many years ago, Central Grocery was less touristy than now, but the sandwich is still tasty.

Had one about a year and a half ago. I didn't notice a decrease in quality from my first there almost 30 years ago. (except for the price)Great olive selection, and if you want imported Italian ingredients for your Italian cooking, it's not cheap, but they have much of the good stuff.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Yes, it was as good as I remembered, and I plan to have what is left from Saturday today for lunch. Best I remember from many years ago, it is just as good the second or third day right out of the fridge.
Of course, If I lived as close as you, I would probably eat these sandwiches until I got sick of them. -
Then again, with so much excellent food in NO, I might be too busy with other choices to eat muffulattas that often!

I can walk to Central Grocery from my crib. (Including a ferry ride)______________________________________________I love lamp..

That looks wonderful! Along with a monte cristo, a good muffuletta is one of my all-time favorite sandwiches.Stillwater, MN
