OT: surf fishing/ Dauphin Island Al

Any one here do any surf fishing around Dauphin Island? We are here for the week and I need something to do. Got a inshore trip tomorrow but can’t afford to do that all week. Any tips or tricks for fishing the surf? Or what could be biting?

    Not a clue - I do not even know where that is.  But everything eats clams, squid and shrimp. When in doubt, try a bottom/fish finder rig with one of those.  Something will bite.

    see if theres a saltwater tackle bait shop in the area, always a good place to start and they are usually helpful with the what to use and where

    Nice reds.  Never got one of those.  We will usually see one or two up here a summer, but they are few and far between. However we get their cousins - black drum.
