the one we have is only off by 2 degrees when i use it but it uniformly reads 2 degrees off day after day. 97.0 and im usually a little higher than 99.0 year after year

Two degrees is about the difference between "I don't feel so good, I think I'll lay down" and " Get me to the ER!"
The National Guard stopped using them at our local drive through mass vac site after first telling people to make sure their defrosters weren't running "cause it messed up their readings.
