iPhone 12 pro is great. I especially like the portrait mode for photos. Have posted a bunch here. You get nice depth of field and it helps you obscure distracting backgrounds.

My friend and I did a very amateur speed test on loading different websites between his Apple iPhone 12 and my 6 year old Note 4. I was shocked to find my Note 4 almost identical in speed. That's about it in comparisons between the two though. I had no intentions of upgrading my 6 year old smart phone as it worked perfectly fine and cruised the internet nearly as fast as any new smartphone. The biggest drawback was the camera. Still a nice camera for being a dinosaur of a phone but any new higher end smart phone smoked it. I ended up breaking the camera lens cover that ended up damaging the camera. So I took it a sign to upgrade my phone. Which I really had no interest in. (Besides the new camera) I went with a Google Pixel 4a 5G. I couldn't pony up the money for anything more. I already felt that I was getting bent over with my Pixel. If Money grew on trees I'd be all over the Note 20. Nothing but praise with my previous Note.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 8 to an XR. Does everything I need but the best function for me is the dual sim so I can have a personal number and a work number and only carry one phone. 12 looked nice but the price was nicer on the XR

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

The iPhone 12 processor will smoke any old Note (and probably the newer ones).  You basically benchmarked network speed.  The A14 processor is insanely fast.  They started making a computer version called the M1 which is smoking everything Intel makes, including the new i7 and i9 CPUs.

Yes, network speed. I was shocked to see it keep up with the iPhone 12. I figured it would lag way behind between a 6 year old phone.

I was a dedicated Pixel fan until the downgrade they made with the Pixel 5. I did some research, and decided to get the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The camera beats anything on the market, including the eyefone. There is surprisingly little bloatware on the S21, nothing that I can't disable or ignore, and Samsung had promised updates for four years, better than Google does.

Not cheap unless you have a good trade-in or are will to switch service provider. But then it seems to be worth it to me. A friend that has a new eyefone pro has me take pictures, as she says they are better then her camera.

Not to start an Android eye-oh-ess war, and possibly I am biased  =) but I would trade this for anything on the market now.

I think the plus is the larger one. The pro has a better camera.

After always having a Note+ I was also torn. Got lucky in that a friend had an 11pro+ she was not using. I wanted to see if I liked it.

It's awesome and I will upgrade to the 12pro next week.

That speed impressed me the most about the iphone even with the 11

iPhone 12 does all I need. Botch just converted, maybe he could give you a more recent comparison.
I only got the 11 SE, so no help here.
I do much prefer the OS to Android, plus David Pogue has a "Missing Manual" out for iOS, not so for Android (which I found odd).

I don't know if it's in the manual, but the handiest tip for iphone I've found is that when you are typing text, if you hold down the space bar, you can move the cursor with precision like a mouse, instead of trying to touch where you want to insert something.

Nice!  That's the thing, these damn phones can do so much more than most owners realize.  The iOS Missing Manual is over 700 pages, and I've only gotten halfway thru it yet (and have probably forgotten half of what I have read).

I've never bought into the Apple world, going all the way back to the original Macs, but to each his own.

I just upgraded to the Samsung S21 5G (base model).  I was impressed with the upgrade process from my S9, expecting to have to reinstall apps, redo settings, etc, but after it was done, the new phone looked almost exactly like the old phone.  There is still a little bloatware, but it took just a minute or two to turn off/delete, and I did have to sign back in to a couple apps.  Overall, a pretty painless process.
