Repair a hairline crack in base?

XL BGE sitting in a BGE nest on a flat piece of granite. This is my third base in 7 years. Not sure why they keep cracking but they do. I’m not doing any crazy hot cooks, just mostly low and slow BBQ with occasional steaks.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  BGE has replaced it twice but at some point I’m sure they are going to stop.

Noticed smoke coming out of the bottom they other day and sure enough there’s a tiny hairline crack across the bottom.

Is there any ceramic repair/glue/adhesive  I can apply to try and save it?

I don’t see any reason why they would stop replacing it. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask for a new one. If you can see smoke that is a pretty significant crack and only going to get bigger. I don’t think I would want to trust a repair.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

  • Why bother with a repair when it has a lifetime warranty. There is no "limit" on warranty claims.
    Replace it.
