OT - Electric Fireplace?

The basement project is moving along and we are considering an electric fireplace (flat panel type that sits inside of a 2x4 wall) - more for the ambiance versus heat.  Do any of you have one and do you like it?  Other thoughts?  Thanks.

We bought one for my MIL’s space upstairs. It is not an in wall unit though. It has dual settings. She seems to like it and it heats the space really well.

We had an RV fireplace from this outfit and it worked really well.

We have an electric unit in a piece of furniture that has turned out to be pretty useful. Not only does it create a nice “ambiance” in just the LED mode but the heat that comes out is decent enough for the space we use it in. 

We keep the “fire” on most of the year but only use the heater occasionally. (We live in Southern California)
