Old large band replacement

Hello! I have two older Large eggs that use the old bands with the hinge in the back. After years of use, there’s no adjustments I can make without resulting in an underbite.

Are there any recommendations or do I need to upgrade these bands? My only concern with upgrading are whether my nest mates will fir a new band.

Thanks!

All the old nest and mates are compatible with the new stuff. Bite the bullet. The new ones allow for adjustment of the lid due to slotted holes.

I faced this same issue.  Did the new band upgrade.  Better fit better seal.  Doesnt open as wide open as old style.   Takes a bit to get used too.  Never looked back.  Theres a video floating around ref adjustments.  Works great.  Change the gasket at the same time.  Might at well go for the whole refurbish.  Dont know why.  Youll feel better.  Did the stainless steel screen upgrade, the kick ash bowl, new handle, and grill grates as well.  Added two L brackets on the fromt to hold magnetic lights.  Ijs go for it

I got to replacing the gasket on my large BGE and discovered again that the lid and body do not line up.  I looked up some videos on adjustment and tried shimming but not much help  It looked like 3/8 to 1/2 inch underbite.  I also found reference to a new band and hinge so got one ordered and sent BGE  an email asking about new arms for my nest handler, apparently it requires some curved ones and could not find on their website.

Is this an old band? I replaced my gasket a few weeks ago.  The lids were lined up perfectly. Slowly the underbite returned.
