Brining question

So my fridge won’t fit a 5 gallon bucket. Is it a big deal if the top 4 inches or so of the turkey legs are not in the brine?  I plan on Saran wrapping it over top so that the exposed turkey is not sitting in the open air over night.

I dry brine my turkey.  Just salt and air dry in the fridge.  If your water temp is cold enough when you start and your fridge is at or below 40 (and air can still circulate) I do not see an issue.  I am no biologist though.
