My first Caveman style steak

Decided to cook a steak dinner tonight on my mini. Steak was supposed to be prime from Costco but tbh is was more like choice. Was unprepared and much lower on lump than I thought so I had to improvise. Cooked the potatoes and onions in a foil pack on the coals first , then the asparagus. Was really low at this point so tossed the steaks right on the coals. Wow, honestly it was amazing how fast and well it cooked! Definitely doing that again! Last pic is how much lump was left after lol.

@stv8r - great audible right there. Delivered across the board.  Way to bring that steak home.  Nailed the entire cook.  Glad you are a believer.

How did that steak get those 8 lateral sear marks???

Did you carefully line up the coals before going caveman?

@bobroo I started it on the cast iron grate but ran out of steam so had to finish caveman style lol.  It was a bit more cooked than I'd normally do, but still very delicious.
