Thermoworks Timestick Trio Problem

This is a very handy little time; I like it. But now it's not right.
I've got one of these that now clears all three timers whenever I press any "start/stop" button. That was annoying enough, and now it's taken to clearing itself completely shortly after I start a time. It's like it refuses to do its work. I'd have wondered if it was possessed except it's not that close to Halloween. It's nine month old, and yes, I've got an email in to Thermoworks.
How has your experience been?

I had the same problem with mine and I returned it to ThermoWorks. It was replaced. Then less than one month later that second one also puked so I returned it also and they refused to replace nor even return it even though 2 of the 3 features did still work...but it was the last piece I will buy from them.

That's disappointing.  For the price of their stuff, I would have thought they would stand behind it better.

They are sending me a new one.
One thing that appears to have fixed this for the moment, was removing and replacing the battery; it worked okay after that. Don't know how long that'll last, and they responded before I could let them know.
I suspect (with no way to find out) that the timer has insufficient static charge protection.
    Anyway, that's the status update.
