Duke’s Alabama white sauce, Midland Ghost Pepper white sauce

Just found this last weekend at a small independent grocery store. The manager mentioned he special ordered it for a customer request. Bought two, under $4 each.  Have not seen it on shelves in Atlanta yet (been looking for months) but will ask for it when we run out.

Its more of a thick sauce instead of a runny marinade/baste which is what I prefer. Also not too sweet which is also my preference. It has sugar as an ingredient like the recipe on Duke’s site.  Horseradish is very prevalent. Incidentally, Duke’s and Trader Joe’s mayo do not list sugar as an ingredient. Today we pre-chilled the sauce and reheated a freezer bag of pulled pork.  Pickles, pulled pork and this sauce on a brioche bun from Aldi. Homemade jalapeño slaw on the side. Great lunch, sorry no pics.

Additionally:  this is my favorite hot sauce- a Midland ghost pepper white sauce from South Georgia.  The heat is there and, so far have not overheated on it yet.

Bonus round: Aldi sells some pulled pork flavored chips now. Instead of opining how ludicrous and insulting it is to the wonderful world of real pulled pork— we tried them. They taste nothing like pulled pork but are a good, not too sweet, bbq chip.  The ‘gluten free’ reference on the bag was another opportunity for ideological self destruction that I chose to detour.
