I experimented with a Cedar epoxy/varnish table. It came out great! No issues with heat so far.

I've got to know how the finish will hold up. After 3 years on my cedar table, I've installed an aluminum top over my cedar because of the shabbyness of my finish. Beautiful table nonetheless man. 👍👍👍

I have an epoxy soaked, spar varnish egg table and it gets soaking wet from rain frequently. After 8 years it still looks pretty good, but it's almost time to do a little sanding and put a couple more coats of fresh spar on it.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Wow, looks nice. Is that some kind of a gasket you put in the cut out for the egg? What is it?Napoleon Prestige Pro 665, XL BGE, Lots of time for BBQ!

@Rich857 I'd figure out a hood system and bring it inside the house. It's too pretty to leave outside.XLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser

I carved out the soft imperfections in the wood then filled it in with green mica (EBay) colored epoxy. I then poured 3 layers on top of that. I finished it off with 4 layers of Spar varnish.I installed the gasket (OEM Egg lid gasket) as a protective measure. If it works on wooden boat, why not an Egg table.
