    Could be even more cost effective, since 70%  should get the job done. Buy that, dilute, and you've got years' worth of charcoal starter! :)

    Ya but 70% diluted won't sanitise as well as 99% straight, especially if the lump is from US or Brazil  =)

    It didn't work well for me, either.  Have you tried the 70% stuff?  I would think the water would cool the flames enough to also fail.
