Pizza Peel?

Looking for a pizza peel for the egg. I could get the BGE one but they are on backorder locally. Would like something sooner rather than later. Anyone have good recommendations on a peel for the egg?

I like wood. Been using since 1996.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I think you can use a crawfish boil stirrer...or is it vice versa?Philly - Kansas City - Houston - Cincinnati - Dallas - Houston - Memphis - Austin - Chicago - Austin

Anyone have good recommendations on a peel for the egg?I have a wooden one for prepping my pizza, and a metal one for removing it. You can remove it with the wooden one also, but sometimes you get cheese spillover and it sticks. The metal is easier to shuffle or remove the pie quickly (as you want to close the egg up soon anyway to keep the heat in and the fire from flaring up).I was able to get both from a restaurant supply website. They were very cheap. Search around and you should find some options. There is no reason to get a BGE branded one.LBGE/Maryland

I use parchment paper under the dough and a very low profile aluminum pizza pan . . . pull pizza off the stone and onto the pan with the parchment paper

I have metal. Parchment with some cornmeal between pizza and parchment. Parchment goes on stone. After about a minute open and slide parchment out and good to go.

Where'd you get that peel?
I'm becoming a huge fan of Acacia lately... we added Acacia hardwood flooring while renovating the 2nd story of our home. I also replaced my main chopping block with a big slab of Acacia and all my wooden spoons, which doesn't seem to stain, warp or take on odors like other wood varieties I've owned.

@SonVolt I think my wife bought it for me on amazon but that was years ago. I’ve seen them at Marshall’s and Homegoods before if you have those stores near you.

now that's funny. I bought my two from them several years back. It wasn't that much, but yeah, I think they are used to shipping quantity 20 out, not 1.

i just bought an american metalcraft peel https://www.restaurantsupply.com/american-metalcraft-2512 on amazon for 13 shipped. It is the nicest peel I have. I also have an acacia peel from williams sonoma. My wife washes it all the time and it has warped like a pringle...XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.
