I haven’t had much luck for several years now finding morels. Today my neighbor asked me to come look at a toadstool or whatever that was going right up next to his house. It was a nice big 6” one. Seeing my wife isn’t a fan then this treat is all mine!
Just wish I knew how to post a picture I took with my new iPhone 11 which is smarter than me!

Coworker is killing it. Three pans full yesterday and he picked another 30 just after work today. Happy hunting!

Just be sure you have the real deal...
    real vs false morel mushrooms

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Good advice Michael, but I grew up in MO and my family and I hunted every year since I was a wee one and I know the difference. I just don't have the stomping grounds we did down there then. Besides that tripping and falling down in the woods isn't as easy on the old constitution as it was back then! I know...EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES   8^)

Based on Facebook, this is either a banner year for morels, or people have more time for hunting.  They are one of my favorite treats, but I have yet to find any in the desert.

I've been looking for morels for about 4 years now. The first two I didn't find any. Last year I got into some...maybe a pound or so. This year I found over 6 pounds!

it's some of both. We had a good year in south central KS but my public land spots were slammed busy. I'd guess I got into a public spot 1/5 times. I don't like to crowd public spots though. If there is one vehicle in the parking area, I will leave it be and check another. It's the polite thing to do.

I just assumed it was his suggested drink pairing.

Key to enjoying Diet A&W is a wine glass, as noted just above the can :)

I thought it was either a marinade or at least a baste....
