Adding clinch studs to lower ring?

Hi- I am trying to add side shelves to a large egg, but the dealer forgot to put the clinch studs in the lower ring during the initial assembly. Is it possible to add clinch studs to the lower ring without taking the whole top off? Thank you

There's no reason to take the top off. Just unbolt the lower band carriage bolt and insert the stud. Re-tighten keeping the lower band in its previous position.

Thank you. I tried that but was having trouble getting enough separation with the lower ring to insert the clinch studs. Is there a set of photos or video available anywhere?
